Why is this site called “Amen”?

Amen is a Hebrew word meaning “so it is”, “so be it” or “truly”, from a root expressing firmness and faithfulness. It is said almost the same way in every language, which is why we chose it for a site that seeks to take the Gospel to the nations. Jesus himself is called “the Amen, the faithful and true witness” (Revelation 3:14). Our motto remains Soli Deo Gloria: all glory to God.

Here you will find the biblical story told in 34 episodes, from creation to Jesus; in-depth articles on the Bible, prayer, the Holy Spirit and the Christian life; all 150 Psalms in Spanish and English; real news of what God is doing around the world; and spaces to ask for prayer and share your testimony. The word “amen” is Hebrew and means “so it is” or “so be it”. It is pronounced almost the same in every language, and the Bible calls Jesus “the Amen, the faithful and true witness” (Revelation 3:14). Our motto, Soli Deo Gloria, “glory to God alone”, sums up the spirit of this site: that in all things God may be glorified.
